Dido and Aeneas is the production that Opera Atelier has produced and toured more
than any other in our history. The production has taken us to major venues in Italy,
France, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, across North America,
and to the Royal Albert Hall, England, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the BBC
Proms.
Opera Atelier’s 2022/23 production of Dido and Aeneas features a cast of Canada’s
finest singers, all making their role debuts, which is a rarity given the profile of our
artists. Soprano Meghan Lindsay and tenor Colin Ainsworth portray the ill-fated lovers,
and soprano Measha Brueggergosman-Lee performs the role of The Sorceress.
Dido and Aeneas is considered to be the greatest opera written in the English language.
With a run-time of 60 minutes, it is ideal for first-time opera goers or anyone interested
in period-pieces.

As Artistic Director of the Bach Children's Chorus, I am thrilled to know your family is interested in our 2020-2021 programming! Our music team has been preparing a thoughtful and flexible program for the coming season in light of Covid-19.
All new choristers will be asked to book a short one-on-one assessment time with me. It will take place on July 24th in person at Scarborough Bluffs United Church. You can book your 15-minute audition through google calendars by clicking here.
Alternatively, you can book an online assessment, held on Zoom, on July 26th or 27th. Email to set up a time.
The audition is friendly and casual. Young singers will be asked to repeat sounds that I sing and play. I will also ask them to sing a familiar song such as Twinkle, Twinkle or O Canada.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
